My name is Chris Charnitski and I am passionate about the Next Generation Science Standards and the vision of science education that is put forward in A Framework for K-12 Science Education. I have been working with educators and the NGSS for over 5 years at conferences, training institutes and at schools around the world – and now virtually – helping teachers and schools transition to these transformational new science standards and conceptual shifts.
When visiting schools, I will typically spend 2 – 3 days training larger groups – often divided into upper and lower school – and a few days either working with individual teachers or facilitating small groups to begin to think purposefully about unit development, assessment and what these conceptual shifts might look like and feel like in the classroom. Most schools now are interested in continued, sustained PD to work towards cohesive assessment systems and curriculum design. As a result, I typically work with schools over several years in multiple capacities. You can see a list of recent conferences I’ve presented at and schools I’ve collaborated with below, and check out testimonials from teachers and leaders I have had the privilege of learning from and with (by following the “testimonials” link above).
