Fobizz is another resource for those who might be reluctant and / or anxious to bring AI into their daily work flow and to their young learners. They offer lots of AI and online instruction PD, simple and safe AI tools and interactive and ready to use instructional materials.
I am highlighting this resource because I think the AI tools in particular are perfect for someone reluctant or anxious about dipping their toes into AI. They have chat AI assistants and “prompt labs”, design tools (including image generators) and tools for creating materials (worksheets, websites, text editors, etc.) all of which are super user friendly and which emphasize safety and security.
It’s free and easy to sign up for. There are limits to the amount you can use it with the free account. In about 10 minutes I generated an informational text for grade 5 about the flow of energy and matter through a Thailand jungle ecosystem. The tool provided suggestions for how I might engage my students with the text. Here’s an excerpt:

Using a different tool in their tool kit, I generated an accompanying image to support the ideas in the text. Here is the image generation prompt I used, “explanatory model of the flow of energy and matter through a Thailand jungle ecosystem for middle school students. Please include organism names and provide at least two organisms at each trophic level.” (the ‘grade 5’ example the tool generated was too simple).

Can you do these things with other AI tools? Absolutely! And it is very possible (likely?) that other tools will do this for you better than the tools here (there are actually quite a few hallucinations in this infographic). But if you are someone who has not yet engaged with ChatGTP, Nano Banana or other AI tools to facilitate the work that you do, I believe these friendly tools can help you better understand what AI can do for you and as well how to craft prompts to get the outputs that will best support you and your students.
