Chris Charnitski put on the best professional development session I’ve attended, regardless of content area or topic. And, he modeled good teaching practice the entire time. The presenter was extremely knowledgeable on the topic of NGSS. His planning for our time together was very thorough and he made sure that we got the most out of our time together.

I taught Life Science at the HS level for 20 years and still identify as a science teacher. After working in Fairfax County VA for 10 years - first at R.E. Lee and then at Thomas Jefferson HS for Science and Technology, I went overseas to teach Biology, IB Biology, AP Biology and various other science courses in Ecuador, Myanmar and Oman respectively. Currently I work with overseas schools and overseas teachers, primarily from American International Schools around the world, helping them implement the awesome new Next Generation Science Standards. I also work with the non-profit Achieve organisation, authors of the NGSS, on their Science Peer Review Panel vetting units and lessons for alignment to the NGSS. View all posts by chris charnitski
